Fsu Women's Softball

The Florida State University (FSU) women's softball team, also known as the Florida State Seminoles, is a collegiate softball team that competes in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. The team is part of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and has a rich history of success, with numerous conference championships and appearances in the NCAA Tournament. The Seminoles have been led by head coach Lonni Alameda since 2009, who has guided the team to several ACC championships and NCAA Super Regional appearances.

Program History

The FSU women’s softball program was established in 1978, and the team has since become one of the most successful programs in the ACC. The Seminoles have won 17 conference championships, including 12 ACC tournament titles, and have made 32 NCAA Tournament appearances. The team has also produced several All-Americans, including Jessie Warren, who was a three-time All-American and the 2018 ACC Player of the Year. The Seminoles have a strong recruiting class, with several top-ranked players committing to the program in recent years.

Facilities

The FSU women’s softball team plays its home games at JoAnne Graf Field, which is located on the FSU campus in Tallahassee, Florida. The stadium has a seating capacity of over 1,000 and features a state-of-the-art playing surface, as well as a press box and concession stands. The stadium is named after former FSU head coach JoAnne Graf, who led the team to several conference championships and NCAA Tournament appearances during her tenure.

Notable Players

The FSU women’s softball team has produced several notable players over the years, including Jessie Warren, who was a three-time All-American and the 2018 ACC Player of the Year. Other notable players include Cal Raleigh, who was a two-time All-ACC selection, and Elizabeth Mason, who was a two-time All-ACC selection and the 2019 ACC Freshman of the Year. The team has also had several players go on to play professionally, including in the National Pro Fastpitch (NPF) league.

Coaching Staff

The FSU women’s softball team is led by head coach Lonni Alameda, who has been at the helm of the program since 2009. The team’s coaching staff also includes Travis Wilson, who serves as the team’s pitching coach, and Vanessa Shippy, who serves as the team’s hitting coach.
